Kat Joyce
Kat is a playwright / director /dramaturg who is interested in alternative methods of creating narrative, including scripting and devising, and how narrative connects to space.
Kat trained at the University of Hull, Central Saint Martins and on the Royal Court Young Writers Programme, and has created work as a director and writer in the UK and abroad. She has created several multi-lingual and site-responsive works including El Conspiracion Velado (Bilbao International Theatre Festival) and Heart in Case and Word on the Street for the Royal Court. She has written three plays; Inside/Out (shortlisted for the Royal Court Young Writer’s Festival 2004), Midas Touch and The Translator. She was a delegate at World Interplay (international playwriting convention) and has also taught playwriting at the Royal Court Theatre.
Kat is also Associate Director with physical theatre company Tangled Feet, with whom she helped to create game? and current work-in-progress, the site-responsive show HOME.
Nathan Curry
Nathan is Artistic Director of physical theatre ensemble tangled feet. He is also a Creative Associate at The Bush Theatre and a Staff Director at The National Theatre, working on this year’s ‘Connections’ Plays.
As Director, Nathan’s work includes: Bufonidae by Bryony Lavery (The Bush Theate), Movieplex (Watch This Space Festival, National Theatre), Game? (Southwark Playhouse, Edinburgh Fringe and UK Tour), Weapons of Happiness by Howard Brenton (Finborough Theatre), Ya Get Me? By Ash Sohoye (Old Vic Theatre Tour), Emily’s Kitchen (Edinburgh Fringe), Lost Property (Edinburgh Fringe, UK and International Tour) and Catching Dust (Edinburgh Fringe, UK and International Tour). Nathan has directed plays by Justin Butcher and Nicholas Wright for Nabokov’s Present Tense projects.
